HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR CLEANERS
From occupational dermatitis to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), those who work in the cleaning industry can be exposed to a variety of
different risks and hazards on a daily basis. This Health and Safety for Cleaners e-learning course provides information that can help cleaners
to identify, assess and respond to the risks involved in their work.
You’ll learn why cleaners are at risk, identify when there is a problem and what to do if symptoms occur. You’ll discover what a risk assessment is
and the responsibilities involved.
You’ll understand the risks involved with manual handling, slips, trips and falls and working at height. You’ll learn about the Control of Substances
Hazardous to Health (COSHH), occupational dermatitis and injuries to the back and upper limbs.
Finally, you’ll learn about cleaning agents, warning signs, safety data sheets, appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and electrical equipment.
At the end of the course, trainees will be able to:
- Understand why cleaners are at risks
- Identify if there is a problem
- Understand cleaning risk assessments
- Recognise the various risks and hazards to cleaners
- Understand GHS symbols and Safety Data Sheets
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly
